December 13 - 17
Last week before Christmas Holidays! I am leaving for Colorado to see my children and grandchildren. Visiting family is the best!!
*Skating - Tuesday, December 14 from 8:45 - 10:00 a.m. Meet us at the ice arena to help us lace skates and hopefully skate with us. Remember helmets and warm clothes.
*Spelling - No test until Friday, January 7. We will practice our spelling words next week and the same words the 1st week back. Class did awesome on Spelling Test!
*Reading - We will be reading the story "Ted" next week and the 1st week back after the holiday. New yellow reading sheet for "Ted" in ziplock bag.
*Students are doing amazingly well with zipping up coats. Thanks for practicing!
*Pizza Day - Thursday, December 16 - wear red/white. Students love staying and eating together.
*Lates - Mr. Hogg announced over the intercom last Thursday that he is going to have draws for prizes for students who arrive on time. He is concerned about the number of students that are late everyday. He says that there are at least 40 students late every day. He is asking for our help as a class to help reduce the number of lates. Maybe this could be our New Year's Resolution!
*Class Party - Friday, December 17. Please have food to school by 8:30 a.m.
Halle - 24 rice krispie squares
Jane - 24 cookies
Mei - 8 apples
Oakley - 8 oranges
Tianna - 8 bananas
Justin - grapes
*Christmas Holidays - December 18 - January 3.
Enjoy your "Crew" and remember, if you have any concerns, please contact me at school or at home. Thanks!

Christmas is almost here!! I am counting the days until I'm on my way to Colorado to see my children and grandchildren!
**Character Education - Optimism - WOW!! What a magnificent response to the Grade 2's "Warm Hearts Campaign". We have had alot of donations of coats, hats, scarves, mittens, and boots for students and families who are in need. Also remember the penny and small change drive for those in need.

*Weather - Excellent job of dressing for the weather! Many thanks!! Also, we are getting better at zipping our coats, etc. The first few weeks of winter were pretty hectic! It is fun to watch the students helping each other! What an awesome class.
*Giving Tree - Non-perishable items for needy families in Raymond.
*Home Reading - Thanks for returning the yellow sheet every day in ziplock bags. It is important for me to know that your child is reading the story for the week every night. Story this week is "Meg". Thanks for your help!
*Spelling - Fantastic!! I know you have to be so proud of your child's results on their spelling test and sentence dictation! Congratulations everyone!
*Pizza Day - Thursday, December 16 - Wear red and white! Money handed in by Thursday, December 9.
*Christmas Holidays - December 18 - Jan. 3!
*Lates - Try to have your child to school by 8:20 a.m. so that they have time to be ready for school to start. They love visiting with classmates and me before school starts.
Have a great week. Enjoy your"Crew"!
