March is here! The week off was great! I attended some good classes at Teacher's Convention.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. Give out lots of hugs and kisses and acts of kindness!
E-mail - If you didn't receive your valentine movie card by e-mail, come visit us at school and your child can show it to you on their computer. Hope you enjoyed it.
The kids have been very excited about Valentine's Day. They have enjoyed passing out their valentines. We are looking forward to a fun day!
*Student Led Conference - I will be having my Student Led Conferences a week early because I am going to Colorado to my daughters' graduation from nursing school. I will be sending report cards home Monday, March 7 and having our class Student Led Conferences on Tuesday, March 8. I hope this will work for everyone.
*Forty-six years ago, on February 15, 1965, the National Flag of Canada was raised for the first time on Parliament Hill and across Canada. I was attending university at the time and had grown up with the Union Jack flag. I remember feeling sad and not sure that I liked our new flag. How time flies!

*Scholastic Book orders - Robert Munsch new book, Moose, is out. It is $5.95.
*Pizza Day - Thursday, February 17 - wear red and white. Our class loves Pizza Day! Thanks for ordering and letting us have this special time together!
*Character Education - Courage
*100th Day Celebration - We had a great time! Students drew a picture of themselves now and 100 years from now, worked on a 100th Day Booklet, played a mental math game using a 100's chart, colored 100 dots on a dalmation dog, and listened to 100th day stories. It was an awesome day!
*Home Reading - Thanks for reading the Margaret Hillert books with your child. Home Reading was fantastic this week.
*Spelling - Wow! I am thrilled with how well everyone is doing. I am also pleased with the way our class spells our spelling words when I dictate the sentences.
*No school for students - February 21- 25.
*Weather - Be prepared for your child to be wet from recess with all the melting and water that is on the playground.
Half way through the month. Seems like I just said that. "Enjoy Your Crew!"

Wow! The week went by so fast! I'm glad we warmed up by the end of the week.
Next week will be cold but not freezing cold. Congratulations once again for dressing for the weather.
