We are halfway through the month already!
We worked really hard on neat printing last week.
*Pyjama Day - Thursday, January 20. Wear pyjamas and bring stuffy or blanket. It is going to be a fun day.
*Pizza Day - Thursday, January 20. Wear red and white. Thanks for allowing your child to stay for Pizza Day. It is great to have everyone stay and eat together!
*Reading - We have finished our first set of stories. Vocabulary and spelling words will be getting more challenging. Thanks for reading the weekly story and vocabulary words every night. Our story this week is Mac Gets Well. Sign yellow sheet in zip lock bag. Thanks!
*Spelling - Our class is amazing! Every week I am amazed at how well our class does.
*V.I.P. - Students love sharing with the class. Thanks for remembering your child's day.
*Weather- Awesome job of dressing for the weather. Mr. Hogg has a new policy for cold weather. If it is -20 degrees Celsius, then students stay in for recess and lunch. If parents send a letter asking for their child to stay in, then they go to the gathering area to read or do homework and the inside teacher will supervise them there. Then Mr. Hogg will call the parent to find out why the child has to stay in on a cold day.
*Hot Chocolate - Mrs. Fowler's Gr. 2 class is raising money to adopt a humpback whale. They will be selling hot chocolate or hot apple cider for $0.50
*Robert Munsch - What a neat experience to listen to his story telling.
*Bob King - He is coming to sing some of his songs that he has written. He is very entertaining, plus he will be selling his C.D.'s. Mrs. Ross, the music teacher, has been singing some of his songs in music.
*Character Education - Kindness - This is such an important concept to learn and to apply to those around you.
