March 21 - 25

Hope all went well last week. My week was awesome! Graduation was exciting!!
Grandkids were fabulous!!! My 2 daughters came back for a 2 week visit, so I have 4 of my grandchildren here!
*Reading Challenge - I checked the box and was glad to see lots of slips to enter the draw at the end of the month. Thanks for reading with your child.
*Home Reading - Even though the reading is easy for some of the students in the class, please read the story at home. This way, you know if your child is reading at the level they should be at.
*Spring Concert - White shirts and dark pants. Cultural Hall Thursday, March 31 at 6:30 p.m.
*Weather - Snow! I'm not ready for a couple of days of snow. I enjoyed 60 - 70 degree weather in Colorado.
*Fundraiser - Cookie Dough

March 14 - 18

Awesome week! Thanks so much for attending Student Led Conferences. Your child had so much fun practicing and giving you a test! You Are The Best!!
I'm on my way to Colorado! Can't wait to see my grandchildren and secondly my kids!

*Check Lost and Found next week. You might be surprised at what might be on the table in the main hallway.
*Pizza Day - Thursday, March 17 - wear red or green.
*St. Patrick's Day - Thursday 17 - wear green or red.
*Library Reading Challenge - Bunch of Munsch - March 14 - 31. Be prepared every day for the different activities. Remember to send the green reading slip for every 15 minutes read. Hopefully our class will win some of the draws at the end of the month.
*Mr. Hogg is having knee surgery on March 14. He is excited about having a new life.
*Kaye Bridge Merrill is subbing next week!
*Spelling - Thanks for all of your help!
*Weather - Be prepared for wet clothes. Make sure your child wears a coat eventhough it is warming up.
*Have fun getting use to Day Light Savings Time.

March 7 - 11

Winter came in "like a lion" with the cold weather and snow. That should mean, hopefully, that March will go out "like a lamb." I am so ready for warm weather and spring to be here to stay.
*March is Nutrition Month - visit www.dietitians.ca to discover recipes from the Dietitians of Canada's new cookbook called "COOK!"
*Assembly - Friday, March 11 @ 12:00 noon - Honesty.
*Home Reading - Thanks for trying to read consistently for 15 minutes every night. Home Reading plays a big part in your child's future.
*Library Reading Challenge - Bunch of Munsch - March 14 - 31. Hope your calendar that I sent home is up on your bulletin board. There are a lot of fun things happening this month. Be ready and enjoy!!
*Robert Munsch stories will be used to enhance our math, reading, writing lessons, gym, story time, etc. For instance, in gym on Monday, we will be having relays where the students have to get dressed in winter clothes.
*Report Cards - Monday, March 7.
*Student Led Conferences for my class only. Tuesday, March 8 at your scheduled time. It is going to be a wonderful learning experience to celebrate your child's successes.
Pizza Day - Thursday, March 17. Wear green for St. Patrick's Day and red for Pizza Day. Good luck!

*Mr. Hogg is having knee surgery. His knees have plagued him for many years. We wish him all the best to a better life. Mr. Rob Hill and Carol Demas will be acting on his behalf while he is is gone.
Quinton Family Fundraiser - Cupcake orders are due on Wednesday, March 9. Cupcakes will be delivered to the classrooms on Tuesday, March 15. Thanks for helping to support this family.

*Weather - Hopefully we won't be having any more inside recesses for cold weather, except for rain! Great job of dressing for the weather.
*Daylight Savings Time - midnight Saturday, March 12.
*Kaye Bridge Merrill will be subbing for me the week of March 14 - 18. She taught Grade 2 for many years. Hopefully you won't have any concerns while I am gone to my daughter's graduation from nursing school.
