Welcome to Grade 1! I'm looking forward to One Fun Year!
Now I would to like to take a minute to introduce myself. I have been teaching school for many years and I can honestly say I love teaching Grade 1 the best.
I have lived in Raymond since 1976. My 4 children live in Colorado. I love to spend all my holidays visiting them and my 7 grandchildren.
This week I will not be assigning a V.I.P. as I will be modeling for the students. There will be new V.I.P.'s posted each week.
For the next few weeks, we will be reviewing letter sounds and number recognition. Our first Spelling Test will be on Friday, September 10.
All Grade 1 students will be swimming Tuesday from 2:00 - 3:00 and Thursday from 11:00 - 12:00. If your child has a life jacket and needs to use it, please send it with them, along with a plastic bag for their wet swimming suit and towel. Students can change into their swim suits during the lunch hour if they want to.
Lunch Policy - Bus students may bring a lunch. Town students, please try to find a neighbor or relative where your child can go for lunch. All town students must get permission from our principal, Mr. Hogg. Please help us out with this as much as possible, as supervision during the lunch hour is limited.
Please check the blog regularly, as I will be putting announcements on it and sharing fun things we are doing throughout the year. Each time you check this blog, please leave your name in the comment section. This will help me to know who has checked the information.
Snacks - Please send one everyday for recess. This helps your child make it to lunch time. Friday they will need an extra snack for snack time.
Running shoes- Every one needs an extra pair of running shoes.
Make sure you initial the agenda every day.
Early morning breakfast for everyone in the family. Awesome food!
Help your child to get to bed early. It really does make a difference to the quality of work they do.
This is going to be a great year!!!
